Sask. family donates 14 eagle feathers to Provincial Court
Fourteen eagle feathers have been gifted to the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan and will be available for use during court proceedings.
One eagle feather will be kept at each of the Court’s thirteen permanent locations. A person who is swearing or affirming to tell the truth may hold the eagle feather or have it placed before them during the proceeding while testifying.
The eagle feathers were gifted to the Court by Cecile Brass, sister of Provincial Court Judge Michelle Brass. Ms. Brass received the feathers from Bob Mills, former Chief of the Skidegate Band on Haida Gwaii. The gift was made in memory and honour of Cecile and Judge Brass’s father, Gregory Brass, who passed away on January 2, 2026.
