Blue Jays place right-handed pitcher Shane Bieber on 15-game injured list

TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have placed right-handed pitcher Shane Bieber on the 15-day injured list with inflammation of his right teres major muscle.
The club said that the move, announced hours before the Blue Jays opened a three-game series with visiting Kansas City, is retroactive to Friday, a day after he pitched seven solid innings in a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
The teres major muscles connect the shoulder blades to the upper arm bones.
Bieber has a 5-2 record with a 4.37 earned-run average this season. He spent the first two months of the season on the injured list due to right elbow inflammation and forearm fatigue
