Fourplex proposed on vacant Meadow Lake lots amid rental shortage
Two vacant lots on Yaychuk Place could become four three-bedroom rental units through a partnership between Meadow Lake Properties and Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC), as city officials point to a shortage of rental housing.
Council is being asked at its Sept. 14 meeting to authorize public advertising for the proposed fourplex at 17 and 18 Yaychuk Place and schedule a public hearing for Oct. 13.
The vote would not approve construction. Council would make its decision on the discretionary-use application after hearing from the public.
Meadow Lake Properties recently purchased the two lots, which would be consolidated into one property. Once construction is complete, ownership would pass to the Meadow Lake Health and Social Development Authority Inc., which would act as landlord.
