It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Gregory Mitsuing, better known as, “Gigi.” He was a young man with many gifts and talents that set him apart. He was gifted in sports, especially volleyball, where his strength, heart, and teamwork shone bright. He brought energy and joy to the court to the court, and to everyone who watched him play. Gigi was a great chef. He had a special gift for cooking and feeding people – it was one of the ways he showed his love. His cooking skills brought family and people together. He was known for his kind heart, his smile, his talent, and his spirit. He was so loved by his family, friends and everyone who knew him. He loved his jam jars (kokum’s jar’s) filled with his favorite drink ‘tea.” He loved his mega cream and sugar in his tea. He will be so missed, but his memory, his gifts and his love will live on in all of us.

Gigi had two sets of parents: his biological parents are Lorraine Jack and Murray Keesaynew. His traditional parents late Irene Mitsuing and Jimmy John Sandfly (James Keesaynew). He grew up surrounded by family and friends. He had a special relationship with his nieces, Emma, Mercy and Neyanna. He adored his grandchildren, Tazym, Emeryn, and Taeus.

He leaves to mourn his parents Murray Sandfly (Rosa) and Lorraine Jack. His siblings Anthony Mitsuing, Michelle Mitsuing, Leepoo Mitsuing (Jason), Courtenay Mitsuing, Carson Mitsuing, Jeannine Keesaynew, Haley Crookedneck, Keshia Keesaynew (Byrt), Tenille Keesaynew (Chubby), Savannah Sundown, Dreyton Kiseyinewakup, MJ Kiseyinewakup (Larry), Rayleigh Ochuschayoo, Nataliyah Ochuschayoo, Jimmy Jr, Jolynne, Jean, Jenessa, Jerri-Lynn, Jadelyn, Jorjah and Jayden. His aunties and uncles. His best friends: Jasmine Williard and Kristie Weeseekase. Eva Faulds Ricky Moostoos Leo Mitsuing Seldon Laboucane Jermayn Morningchild Deanna Kiseyinewakup, Beverly Chief, Lindsey Keshane, Darwin Mitsuing, and Cheryl Kiseyinewakajup Kai’la Mitsuing, Colt Ahpay, Johnny Bellegarde, and his special pals, Charlie and Swiper Argentina Hailey Dior Mitsuing, Gigi’s dog.

He is pre-deceased by his other parents Irene Mitsuing and Jimmy John Keesaynew, his siblings: Harlan Singer and Tyrone ‘Fonze” Mitsuing, and his niece Zara Kakum. His paternal grandparents Johnny Keesaynew/Sandfly and Jeannine Blyan/Sandfly, his maternal grandparents: Tony Littlespruce and Matilda Mitsuing (Kahseeweyas), Emma Mitsuing, Harry Mitsuing, and Frank Morris Kiseyinewakup. His great grandparents, Philip Mitsuing, Katie Opawm Mitsuing, Ralph Wahpistkwan and Mary Littlespruce and Billy Blyan; Uncles the Great Champion Chuckwagon Driver Ray Mitsuing, and Ralph Mitsuing, Terri Mitsuing; Aunts Valerie Mitsuing, and Mildred Mitsuing; Cousin Tony Mitsuing.

Greg’s Wake will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the Simon and Alma Kytwayhat Hall, Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, Saskatchewan.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Simon and Alma Kytwayhat Hall, Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, Saskatchewan.
