Makwa Sahgaiehcan man charged with assault after reported stabbing

A 20-year-old man from Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation has been charged with assault with a weapon following an altercation.

Loon Lake RCMP received a report of a stabbing at a home on the First Nation around 1 p.m. Sept. 18.

An injured man was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Following an investigation involving Loon Lake RCMP, the RCMP Serious Crimes Unit in the Battlefords, Forensic Identification Services, Police Dog Services and Meadow Lake RCMP, the accused was arrested without incident at another home. He also required medical treatment before being released into police custody.
