RCMP have charged a Lloydminster man with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting Monday and are warning the public not to approach him.
The incident took place on 50 Avenue at about 11:09 a.m. The victim, identified by RCMP as 22-year-old Nolan Whitstone, was declared dead at the scene.
Investigators said further analysis of video footage led them to identify a suspect. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has now charged 40-year-old Randy Lysohirka with second-degree murder and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
RCMP said Lysohirka remains at large and is believed to be in possession of a firearm.
