Meadow Lake proposes higher water and sewer rates for 2027
Meadow Lake households using 58 cubic metres of water per quarter could pay about $140 more a year for water and sewer service under proposed 2027 rates, according to city projections.
Council requested additional information before approving the bylaw following discussion at its Sept. 28 meeting. The proposal will likely return for further discussion on Oct. 13 or 26.
The proposed rates would take effect Jan. 1, 2027. The city’s rate spreadsheet projects an increase of about $35 per quarter at that consumption level, which it identifies as average residential use.
Including a $25 quarterly infrastructure levy, the projected bill would rise to about $500 from $465. Individual bills would depend on consumption and the applicable sewer base charge.
