Obituary For Gladys Brown
Gladys was born on a farm in Foxdale, SK. just 18 miles north west of
Shellbrook, SK on Sept. 17, 1938 to Ernie and Freda Terrel. She was the youngest of three children. ( Marie, Helen and Gladys) she went to public school in Foxdale, then high school in Shellbrook and took her grade 12 at PACI in Prince Albert. She met George in the fall of 1957 and they were married on September 13, 1958. George was the youngest of the Brown clan. They resided in Prince Albert where all five children were born. In 1972 they moved to Meadow Lake, SK. where George started a wood preserving company and Gladys worked at the Provincial Court office. She later worked at Sask tel where she retired from in 2003. Here she made many life long friends. George passed away June of 2002 and Mom held close to family and friends. In November of 2006 she met a friend and companion Dan Schmid. Together the loved to travel, with Australia ( in 2007 ) being one of their many destinations. They enjoyed the winter months ( Jan. – Feb. ) in Needles California and here they made many friends and mom took up golf at the age of 67. The friends they made were loved and forever talked about. In late July 2021 mom was diagnosed with Cancer, and battled a short but brave fight and passed away on Sept. 30, 2021. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
