Irene Gladys Wiebe was born, on December 24, 1933, at home on a farm north of Plum Coulee, Manitoba, into the hands of a midwife.
Irene lived a rich, full life of adventure, work and travel. She had a rugged independent spirit that fashioned her life. Irene contributed greatly to the fabric of community and society.
Once she came to Meadow Lake in 1982, she found her home and stayed. There, she was part of the exclusive 12 person book club that started in 1933 . She went to the swimming pool three time a week and brought together another group. Then there was the golf course where she bought a life time membership, golf cart and enjoyed many hours of fun and companionship. And, of course, the Indian Affairs monthly gathering at Garfunkels for beer and wings. She faithfully delivered meals on wheels and donated to many charities and individuals.
Survived by her sister Marion Harder, her brother Kenneth Wiebe and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents George and Mary Wiebe and her brothers Jordy Wiebe and Howard Wiebe.
Also survived by her chosen daughters Shelly Pikowicz and Val Brucks (Barry) and grandchildren Shalain Brander Jesse (Kent Jesse), Kelly Brander (Carolyn), Derrick Brucks (Leanne Ursel) and Marci Imlach (Ken) and great grandchildren Makenzie Jesse, Lake Jesse, Draya Brander, Audra Brander, Camri Imach, Kael Imlach, and Kynan Ramsey.
