Marianne was born and raised in the Goodsoil area where she finished Grade 12 in 1955. This same year, she attended Teacher’s College in Saskatoon and taught in rural schools in the Bruno/Viscount areas. She married Alex in 1959 and spent 40 years in Regina, raising four involved children. She taught part-time, was a Welcome Wagon rep, worked at Stats Canada, cashiered at various stores and later became ticket manager at the Centre of the Arts, now Conexus Art Centre. While working, Marianne studied at the University of Regina, convocating in 1989 with two degrees. She sang in the choir and was an active CWL member of Christ the King Parish. In 1999, Marianne, along with Alex moved back to Goodsoil. She enjoyed small-farm life and true to form, quickly got involved in the community. She was secretary of St. Boniface Parish and CWL member totalling 55 years. She represented the parish at the Prince Albert Diocese, was on the Community Hall Board and Bingo committee, and treasurer for the Museum. As a last Museum endeavour, Marianne typed most of the new Volume II Goodsoil History Book. Marianne suffered a stroke in 2007 but that didn’t stop her from remaining actively engaged with family and friends and all her volunteer activities. She also continued to support Alex’s financial statements and auditing service as typist for 35 years. Marianne loved life and her family. Although her children and grandchildren lived afar, she supported them and kept in touch via regular emails. She truly believed in sharing her time and talents. Marianne was predeceased by her parents, Eric and Doris Nachbaur and her brother Bernie. She is survived by her children, Mark, Sandra (Calvin), Matthew (Kathy), Mike (Tuy); her grandchildren, Evan, Michael, Margo, Sarah, Luke, Anna, Logan, Emme and Abby; brothers Larry (Barb) and Walter (Virginia) and sister-in-law Theresa; and many devoted in-laws, friends and extended family. A funeral Mass is being held on August 2, 2017 at St. Boniface Church, Goodsoil, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beaver River Health Foundation, Box 176, The Village of Goodsoil, SK S0A 1M0
