Ralph Alexander Kyle was born on a farm near Dodsland, Sask. on May 27, 1934 and Graduated to HEAVEN on March 25, 2024 from Loon Lake, Sask.
Ralph left Dodsland area with his family when he was 14 months old. They arrived in Dorintosh in July of 1935. He attended the country school, “North Beaver River” for six years, located two miles North of Dorintosh on the west side of the highway. For the next five years, he went to school in Dorintosh. For the next two years, he with to the school of agriculture in Saskatoon, Sask. In the summer of 1953, he worked for a farmer at Elrose, Sask. In the spring of 1954, he went to work on the railroad in Northern Ontario where he worked for six days a week for a period of three years.
In the spring of 1957, Ralph moved back to the farm and continued farming until he retired at age 65. Ralph came back to the farm, when his stepfather, Joe, developed pneumonia and couldn’t take care of the farm any longer.
Ralph got involved in local clubs, such as 4H in his youth. He became a board member in the Credit Union for 31 years. Ralph joined the Seniors Club at the early age of 46. (He had to drive his mother, Janet Kyle, to the meetings and so they made him Treasurer and eventually, as Chairman)
In 1999, Ralph accompanied Ron, his nephew and his Wife, Diane to Hemmingsford, Quebec to a Kyle Family Reunion. Ron and his Son Levi took Ralph on a trip to Sanfrancisco, California and he was amazed at the circumference and the height of the redwood trees. Ralph also went on a bus tour to Jasper, Alberta with some friends from Dorintosh. His last trip with Ron was to the Cypress Hills, the National Grassland Park and then up to the Churchill River. The following day, they returned home and Ralph was happy, but exhausted.
A decision was made in August/September, 2022, to move Ralph to Loon Lake so that he could be closer to his family and his home was in the Evergreen Terrace on Railway Avenue, where he spent the rest of his days.
