William "Bill" Bleakney

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William Franklin Bleakney of Spruce Lake, Saskatchewan. William passed away at the age of 79.
William—better known to many as Bill—will be remembered as a strong, witty, and adventurous man who always had something to say and somewhere to be. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered within the community for generations to come.
Bill is survived by and is lovingly remembered by his wife, Arlyne; his son, Shaun (Tammy), and their children Shanelle, Taylor, and Ty; and his daughters, Carmen (Brad) and their children Carson and Courtney, and Tara. He is also survived by his siblings Barb, Betty, Joy, and Neil(Maureen), and his sister-in-law, Marylin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Bill was predeceased by his father, Frank; mother, Connie; father-in-law, Wylie Flynn; mother-in-law, Mary Flynn; brother, Dillon Bleakney; and brothers-in-law, Bill Ashton and John Glendinning.
Arlyne and family welcome visitors and phone calls at this time.
A Come and Go Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Spruce Lake Community Hall, Spruce Lake, Saskatchewan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to STARS Air Ambulance, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
