Meadow Lake’s cannabis retailer announced
The retailer which will be the sole vendor of cannabis and cannabis accessories in Meadow Lake was announced this morning.
Tweed Grasslands, a subsidiary of Canopy Growth Corporation, will be opening up shop in the city after marijuana is officially legalized.
The Meadow Lake retailer and the 50 other operators around the province were officially announced this morning by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) More than two thirds of the successful applicants are from Saskatchewan or have operations in the province, according to Gene Makowsky, minster responsible for SLGA.
“This represents the next step in the process of having a privately-operated cannabis retail system carefully regulated by SLGA,” Makowsky said in a statement. “There was a lot of interest in the public request for proposal process, resulting in many new businesses that will invest in our province.”
