The Gopher Broke Traveling Medicine Show will be visiting a number of communities across the province with a day of programming, The Gopher Broke Traveling Medicine Show will tap into the diversity of cultures, the rich history and talent of each community they visit. Gopher Broke and Dr. Pan D’ Mnium will be giving a special free performance for kids and their parents Apr. 27th at the Meadow Lake Public Library.

The Northern Lights Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Society has set its heart on uncovering the stories of Saskatchewan’s old time dances. These dances played a significant role in communities across the province.

In a time when the prairies were being settled by people from many different parts of the world, the simple act of gathering to dance brought people of all ages and cultures together. Through the sharing of their respective dance traditions they were able to forget their hardships for a while and have some fun. To renew the spirit of the old time dance is the medicine, which the traveling show hopes to administer.
