Lakeside Music Festival

Don’t let the last days of summer go to waste! The 3rd Annual Waskesiu Lakeside Music Festival is happening Friday, August 25th to Saturday, August 27th

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation, this year’s festival will be even bigger and better. Make the most of your Parks Canada Discovery pass and enjoy free entry for all of 2017!

Give that lawn chair one last trip to the lake this summer and find the perfect spot to enjoy an awesome mix of country, rock, folk, bluegrass, and pop music. Explore the music festival grounds, grab your dancing shoes, and kick back with friends and family during this fun filled weekend! This three-day event is jam packed with a variety of FREE family activities.

These are just some of the activities you can enjoy during the last weekend before Labour Day!

Friday, August 25th

·        Aquatic Animals program: Fish for lake critters and get to know who else prefers lake life!

·        Spirits of the Park program: Park characters leap out of the history books and onto the streets.

·        Sunset Yoga

·        Cabaret Fundraiser – Admission at the door

Saturday, August 26th

·        Maple Leaf painting with local Indigenous artist, author, and educator Leah Dorion

·        Singing with Sylvia, an interactive performance with children’s entertainer Sylvia Chave

·        Traditional Drummers and Dancers

·        Live music, face painting, spray tattoos, nature games, bouncy castles, beer gardens, food vendors, and much more!

Sunday, August 27th

·        Pancake breakfast: Adult ($7), Children ($5)

·        Morning Yoga

·        Rockn’ Rocks program: engage all your senses and discover the magic of rocks!

This year’s music festival features a number of Saskatchewan artists playing everything from folk to country to pop; there is sure to be a sound you’ll love in our diverse and talented line-up!

  • All Mighty Voice, 11:30am-12:30pm: Take a trip down memory lane as these gentlemen play a blend of genres built on a foundation of swanky grooves.
  • Brad Johner & the Johner Boys 1:00pm-2:00pm: Canadian Country music staple Brad Johner and the accomplished Johner Boys cut across musical genres with something for everyone!
  • Velvet Hand 2:30pm-3:30pm: This premium cover band has sets from every genre you love: 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, you name it!
  • Rosie & the Riveters 4:00pm-5:00pm: This group of talented ladies sing original folk music with a throwback to vintage 1940’s flair!
  • The Dead South 5:30pm-6:30pm: Smile, tap your foot, or even head-bang to rousing kickers by this rockin, stompin, bluegrass band.
  • The Steadies 7:00pm-8:00pm: A Waskesiu fan favourite, this high energy group created their own genre known as island rock.
  • Codie Prevost 8:30pm-10:00pm: This award-winning Saskatchewan country singer captivates audiences with high-energy singles and slow ballads.
  • Roger Boucher (M.C.): A full time entertainer, prepare to be left in awe with his magic and hypnosis, and in tears from his comedic talent!
