Joe Morrow powers Winnipeg Jets past Minnesota Wild 2-1 in pre-season game
WINNIPEG — Even Joe Morrow wasn’t really positive he scored the game-winning goal for the Winnipeg Jets on Monday, but he’ll take it.
The defenceman’s goal with eight minutes remaining in the third period lifted the Jets to a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild in pre-season action.
The puck appeared to hit the post behind Wild goalie Andrew Hammond and bounce out off the post at 11:45, but it was signalled a good goal, bringing the crowd at Bell MTS Place to their feet.
“Was it on the scoresheet?” Morrow responded with a smile when asked if the goal was good.
