Flood victims in Meadow Lake can’t apply for provincial aid yet as city awaits decision
Residents affected by last weekend’s severe thunderstorm in Meadow Lake will have to wait before seeking assistance through Saskatchewan’s Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) after city council voted Wednesday to apply for the program.
The application is now awaiting provincial review, meaning no claims can be processed unless the province approves it.
In the meantime, the city is urging residents to contact their insurer first because PDAP only covers uninsurable losses.
“If the City’s PDAP application is approved, you will need a formal letter from your insurer stating what your policy does and does not cover,” the city said.
