Meadow Lake RCMP seeking information from public regarding gang-related graffiti

The Meadow Lake RCMP detachment is looking into an incident involving graffiti that is believe to be related to gang activity.

On May 7, officers were informed that several businesses in the downtown area had been vandalized with graffiti overnight. Police believe the messages were designed to promote their gang affiliations, and officials are asking the public to contact their local detachment if they have any information regarding this incident. In an unrelated incident, two minors were taken into custody for attempting to break into vehicles. Police were made aware of suspicious activity going on at the 600th block of Centre Street. The 12-year-old and 13-year-old were released on charges of resisting arrest, theft and mischief under $5,000.
