UPDATE: meadowlakeNOW has learned the adult female has been identified by Meadow Lake RCMP and an investigation has determined that she is safe. No abduction or injury occurred.

Meadow Lake RCMP thanks the media and public for their assistance.

Meadow Lake RCMP are hoping to get more information about an incident at a Flying Dust First Nation gas station, where some bystanders believe a woman was “possibly held against her will,” according to a RCMP statement Saturday evening.

RCMP heard from witnesses that the woman in the backseat of a brown/tan Chevrolet Cavalier was screaming and was in distress after 6:10 p.m.

A man and woman were in the front seats of the vehicle. At one point, it appeared the woman went to the backseat to subdue the allegedly distressed female. The car then left the gas station, heading east on Highway 55 on the way to Green Lake.

The adult male, and driver of the vehicle, is described as being Caucasian with dyed blue hair. He was wearing a black jacket with a large white “YZ” symbol on the back and symbols running down the sleeves.

The adult female, and front passenger of the vehicle, is described as being Caucasian with dyed red hair. She was wearing a black and white shirt with grey pants.

No description is available for the woman in the backseat.

At this time, it is unknown if a criminal offence has occurred. Police are looking to confirm the safety of the woman who was reportedly in distress in the backseat of the car.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Meadow Lake RCMP at 306-236-2570 or 310-RCMP. In an emergency, always call 911.

Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitting a tip online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
