Fatal police-involved shooting on Ahtakakoop First Nation

The Saskatchewan Incident Response Team (SIRT) has been called in to investigate a fatal RCMP shooting on the Ahtakakoop First Nation.

Shellbrook RCMP received a call early yesterday (SUN) morning about an assault, and the suspect confronted officers, who were forced to seek cover.

The man then went inside the home, which had two adults and two kids inside.

The Saskatchewan RCMP Critical Incident Response Team was called in and a gun was shot during the response, with the suspect being injured.
