Marie-Philip Poulin scores twice, Victoire snap skid with 3-2 OT win over Frost
LAVAL — Marie-Philip Poulin scored her second goal of the game 3:12 into overtime as the Montreal Victoire defeated the Minnesota Frost 3-2 in Professional Women’s Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.
Poulin skated through the Minnesota defence before her backhand effort beat goaltender Maddie Rooney in front of a sold-out crowd of 10,172 at Place Bell. She extended her career-high five-game point streak.
Abby Roque also scored for Montreal (3-2-0-4), with Poulin assisting on the goal for a three-point night. Ann-Renée Desbiens made 19 saves.
Mae Batherson and Kendall Coyne Schofield scored for Minnesota (4-1-2-3) while Rooney made 35 saves in her second start in as many days.
