Triple-murder trial set in deaths of Lloydminster father and two sons

Nearly two years after a father and his two sons were found shot to death inside a Lloydminster home, a trial date is now set for the man accused in the killings.

Nokota Pooyak is scheduled to stand trial beginning Oct. 4, 2027, in Battleford Court of King’s Bench. The proceedings are expected to last 20 days.

Pooyak, of Sweetgrass First Nation, faces three counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Brent Peters and his sons, Matthew Peters and Brennan Peters.
