Car stolen from Meadow Lake found in Saskatoon, driver charged

A 30-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges after the driver of a stolen vehicle allegedly tried to evade police. 

Officers received a report of a man in a parked car acting suspiciously at 29th Street and Idylwyld Drive at about 8:30 p.m. on June 28. 

Police spotted the vehicle travelling on 23rd Street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and began driving erratically. 

For safety reasons, officers did not pursue the driver. Minutes later, the Dodge Journey collided with a parked car at Park Avenue and Fifth Street East. The suspect was found in a parking lot at Cumberland Avenue and Eighth Street East.
