Two $100,000 LOTTO MAX prizes have landed in west-central Saskatchewan within less than two weeks, with winning tickets sold in Unity and Maidstone.

Jesse Hoffman of Luseland claimed a $100,000 prize from the May 29 LOTTO MAX draw after purchasing his ticket at Delta Co-op in Unity.

Maria Gossner of Maidstone won $100,000 in the June 9 draw with a ticket purchased at A&S Corner Store in Maidstone. Sask Lotteries announced both winners Thursday.

Hoffman said he discovered the win while checking his ticket online at home.

“I really don’t believe it yet,” he said. “At this time in my life, I am very, very grateful.”

While he has yet to decide exactly how he will use the money, Hoffman said he plans to give back close to home.

“I’ll likely pay some bills and buy more local to support the community.”

Gossner learned she had won after scanning her ticket at a store.

“The cashier counted the zeroes and said, ‘You won!’” she recalled. “I asked what I had won and he replied $100,000!”

The moment took some convincing.

“I was in shock and I said, ‘You’re lying to me!’” she laughed. “His daughter was there and she was jumping up and down clapping with excitement.”

Now considering how to spend her winnings, Gossner said a family trip is among the possibilities.

“I have family in Germany, and I would love to visit them, but I’m still thinking about how I want to spend it,” she said. “Life is definitely good!”

Hoffman won by matching the numbers 3, 26, 27, 32, 36, 42 and 51 in the May 29 LOTTO MAX draw. Gossner matched 17, 28, 30, 38, 47, 48 and 49 in the June 9 draw.
