Drugs, machete seized in Onion Lake traffic stop

Onion Lake RCMP have charged two people after officers seized drugs, cash and a machete during a traffic stop on Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Shortly after 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 17, officers conducting patrols in the community stopped a vehicle on Chief Taylor Road.

Police determined one of the occupants was breaching court-ordered conditions.

As the investigation continued, officers seized about 89 grams of methamphetamine, 45 grams of cocaine, 11 pharmaceutical-style narcotic tablets, drug-trafficking paraphernalia, cash and a machete from the vehicle.
