Large gathering in Prince Albert celebrates Indigenous culture and Treaty 6
Fresh bannock, moose meat, powwow dancing and even a two-stepping competition.
These are all part of the Prince Albert Grand Council’s Gathering of Nations event this week at Chief Joseph Custer grounds. The grand entry was held Tuesday afternoon and event manager Mel Mercredi acknowledged the efforts of the 22 committee members and all the volunteers.
“This event is very important to us. It’s showcasing our culture, our traditional ways,” he said.
