Recent success shoots Senger into Bull Riders Canada national top ten

The Dryden result added to a recent stretch of strong finishes for Senger. He scored a fourth-place result in Taber, Alta., on Aug. 28 after riding a bull named ‘Steve French’.

On Aug. 22, Senger finished second at a PBR event in Montana after completing both of his rides. He scored 85.4 points aboard ‘Coke High’ and 82.4 on ‘Hoca’.

In July, he earned a victory in Rimbey, Alta., and a fourth-place finish in Elnora, Alta. Across the two events, Senger recorded scores of 85 points on ‘Rokketon Ripper’ and 83 points each on ‘Northern Red’ and ‘Barefoot and Crazy’.

The recent results add consistency to a season that had already produced the biggest victory of Senger’s career.

On April 25, he captured his first PBR Canada event title at the Moose Jaw PBR Challenge, going two-for-two before a sold-out crowd. He scored 83.8 points on ‘Nacho’ in the opening round and 86.8 on ‘Black Mamba’ in the championship round.

That victory earned him 114 national points and moved him from 13th to second in the PBR Canada standings. He was fifth following the PBR Canada Hamilton Classic on May 30.

“Winning Moose Jaw, that’s a big deal for us bull riders, getting that first PBR event win,” Senger told meadowlakeNOW in June. “You’re hanging with the big dogs, and it kind of gives you that sense of, like, I belong with these guys, these top guys in Canada.”

The two rankings belong to separate circuits. Senger’s current eighth-place position is with Bull Riders Canada, while his Moose Jaw victory and earlier championship standing were part of PBR Canada.

His rise follows years of competition and a significant setback.

Senger began riding calves at the Meadow Lake Rodeo in 2014 after growing up around the sport with his father, Fred Senger, who’s a former bull rider. By June, Senger estimated he had competed in roughly 300 events and recorded as many as 20 victories.

Brodi Beasley leads the latest BRC standings with 15,235 points, followed by Kaden Piper with 8,495 and Hayden Mulvey with 8,440.

Senger’s 3,465 points place him among the circuit’s top 10 as the season continues, giving him another national race alongside the PBR Canada goal he set earlier this year.

“I want to be the PBR Canada champ this year,” he said in June.
