Carpenter High senior boys open volleyball season with tournament win
Carpenter High School’s senior boys’ volleyball team didn’t waste any time reminding the competition they’re back.
The team opened its season by battling through 16 other clubs to claim gold at the invitational tournament hosted by St. Mary High School in Prince Albert on Friday and Saturday.
“In our semifinal, we ended up playing the Clavet Cougars just outside of Saskatoon,” said head coach Cheyne Dallyn. “We were able to beat them in two straight sets, which set us off against Centennial out of Saskatoon in the final.”
The team dropped the first set of the final 25-22 before battling back to win the next two sets 25-17 and 15-13, securing the tournament win.
