2023 Meadow Lake shooting death case set for trial in 2028

Two men charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Meadow Lake in 2023 are scheduled to stand trial in March 2028.
Creeson Merasty and Gerald Sinclair are set to be tried at the Court of King’s Bench in Battleford. An exact trial date is yet to be determined.
The charges stem from a shooting on July 18, 2023, when Meadow Lake RCMP responded to a business in the community at approximately 5:40 a.m.
Officers found a 23-year-old man injured. He was taken to hospital, where he later died.
