Province records 247 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths

As of January 13, a total of 10,400 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Saskatchewan.

The detailed vaccine report for Jan. 13 has not been received by the province and will be included in a media release tomorrow.

Today’s statistics

There are 247 new COVID-19 cases reported in the province, bringing the provincial total to 19,017. There are also 249 new recoveries.

Two residents who tested positive for the virus have died.

The new cases in the northern zones include 12 in the Far North West, Far North Central (10), Far North East (nine), North West (24), North Central (27), North East (27).

A total of 15,063 individuals have recovered and 3,752 cases are considered active.

In the northern communities there is one person receiving inpatient care in the Far North East zone, one in the Far North Central zone, 12 in the North West, 35 in the North Central, 13 in the North East.

There are two people in intensive care in the North West zone and six in the North Central zone.

Nitha Communities

As of yesterday, Jan. 12, there are 507 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central, Athabasca (24), Far North West (111), Far North East (238), North Central (65), and North East (69). 1183 cases (70 per cent) have recovered, and seven people are currently in hospital.

NITHA is comprised of the Prince Albert Grand Council, Meadow Lake Tribal Council, Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, and Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

There were 2,620 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on January 12, 2021.
