Province reports fourth-highest total of daily vaccine delivery

The province reported an additional 14,351 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan. This brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 693,625. This is the fourth-highest total day for vaccines since vaccine delivery started with May posting the biggest numbers to date.

The 14,351 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 256; Far North Central, two; Far North East, 130; North West, 627; North Central, 772; North East, 581; Saskatoon, 4,648; Central West, 537; Central East, 1,359; Regina, 3,553; South West, 354; South Central, 474; and South East, 782. There were 276 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Seventy-six per cent of those over the age of 40 have received their first dose. Seventy per cent of those 30+ have received their first dose. Sixty-four per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose.

Saskatchewan has a confirmed Moderna allocation for the weeks of May 31 (12,400 doses) and June 7 (3,000 doses).

Daily COVID-19 Statistics

The province reported 122 new cases of COVID-19, and 131 recoveries, in Saskatchewan on May 28, bringing the provincial total to 46,285 cases; 44,378 today recoveries and 1,371 cases currently considered active.

Two new deaths are bg reported today. One death in the 70-79 age group from the Saskatoon zone and one death in the 80+ age group from the North West zone.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, four; Far North Central, one; North West, six; North Central, 12; North East, two. Five new cases are pending residence information.

NITHA Data

As of May 27, there are 45 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), one; Far North West, 13; Far North East, 27; North Central, 0; and North East, four. There are 17 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North West, six; and Far North East, 11.

So far, 3523 cases (98%) have recovered and three people are hospitalized.
