New cases in the North

Province reports 18 new cases, six in Northern zones

Eighteen new cases of COVID-19 and 30 recoveries were reported today in Saskatchewan. This brings the provincial total to 49,322 cases; 48,386 recoveries and 363 cases are considered active.

Of the active cases, 193 are in the Northern Saskatchewan zones with new cases being located in the following zones: Far North West, two; Far North East, two; North West, one; and North Central, one.

No new deaths were reported today.

NITHA Data

As of July 13, there are 124 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), four; Far North West, 14; Far North East, 104; North Central, one; and North East, one. There are 74 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; one, Far North West, six; and Far North East, 63; North Central, one; and North East, 0. There has been 3754 cases (96%) that have recovered, and three people are being hospitalized.

Vaccines Reported

An additional 6,358 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,313,423.

The additional 6,358 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 50; Far North Central, six; Far North East, 45; North West, 770; North Central, 525; North East, 193; Saskatoon, 1,677; Central West, 164; Central East, 410; Regina, 1,260; South West, 347; South Central, 200; and South East, 428. There were 283 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Seventy-three per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 56 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
