Half of active cases currently in Sask. northern zones

Thirty new cases of COVID-19 have been reported by the provincial government. This brings the provincial total to 49,341 cases; 48,395 recoveries and 373 cases considered active.

Cases that are currently active in the six Northern Saskatchewan zones total 193, over half of the province’s active cases in all 13 zones.

The new cases in Northern Saskatchewan are located in the following zones: Far North West, three; Far North Central, one; Far North East, five; North West, four; North East, one. Four cases are pending residence information.

Two cases with pending location were assigned to zones: Far North West, one; and Regina, one. Eleven non-Saskatchewan residents were removed from the total case count of the following zones: North West, one; Saskatoon, one; Regina, two; South West, one; and pending residence, six.

No new deaths were reported today.

NITHA Data

As of July 14, there are 107 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), four; Far North West, 15; Far North East, 85; North Central, one; and North East, two.

There are 60 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; two, Far North West, seven; and Far North East, 50; North Central, one; and North East, 0.

There have been 3776 cases (96%) that have recovered, and three people are hospitalized.

Vaccines Reported

An additional 7,787 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,321,210.

The additional 7,787 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 118; Far North Central, 13; Far North East, 126; North West, 744; North Central, 482; North East, 240; Saskatoon, 2,348; Central West, 276; Central East, 462; Regina, 1,711; South West, 108; South Central, 467; and South East, 424. There were 268 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Seventy-three per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 57 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
