Province reports 1,194 new cases of COVID-19

The Government of Saskatchewan has reported 1,194 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (22), Far North Central (two), Far North East (13), North West (62), North Central (43), North East (29), and 138 new cases have pending residence information.

Of the new cases, 203 were unvaccinated or fewer than 21 days after their first dose, 50 had received their first dose or were less than 21 days from their second dose, 616 were fully vaccinated (more than 14 days since their second dose) and 325 were fully vaccinated and more than 14 days from receiving their booster dose.

There were also six new deaths reported today.

There are 12,448 cases considered active and 99,262 cases considered recovered.

As of today, a total of 315 people are in hospital, including 282 inpatient and 33 in ICU. Of the 315 people, 109 (34.6 per cent) were not fully vaccinated.

Of those in hospital, 121 inpatient are a COVID-19-related illness, 127 are incidental COVID-19 infections, and 34 have not yet been determined. Thirty people are in ICUs: of those, 25 are for COVID-19-related illnesses, four are for incidental COVID-19 infections, and one is undetermined. Three residents are in PICU/NICU: all three are for COVID-19-related illnesses.

NITHA data

As of Jan. 25, there are 29 new cases to report on Jan. 25 in NITHA communities.

There are 191 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 26; Far North West, 42; Far North East, 85; North Central, 16; and North East, 22.

There are 7,304 cases (97 per cent) recovered, and there are 0 hospitalizations.
