Woman located deceased inside submerged truck

A 20-year-old woman from the Dillon area was located inside a truck that became submerged in the Beaver River last week.
Meadow Lake General Investigation Services (GIS) and RCMP Collision Reconstruction are continuing to investigate the incident that occurred north of Meadow Lake on Wednesday. A truck had reportedly driven off the bridge crossing south of Pagan Lake on Highway 903 and became completely submerged.
That evening, police dispatched to the scene pulled a man to shore with a rope, after he was found standing atop the vehicle in the river. The woman was unaccounted for and first responders were unable to enter the river at the time to search safely, given the water current and depth.
With the assistance of heavy equipment operators, the truck was removed from Beaver River and the woman was located deceased inside.
