Creative Industries Economic Impact Survey: Please Add Your Voice!

We’re calling on all individual artists, musicians, bands, music businesses and industry professionals to participate in the new Creative Saskatchewan Economic Impact Survey.

Anyone who made ANY income in 2014 and/or 2015 from creative activities such as playing shows, songwriting royalties, teaching music lessons, running a studio, selling instruments, booking bands, and much more should participate – even if you output more money than you earned on music. We also want to hear from any business that regularly hires musicians (venues, talent buyers, etc).

This survey will better position Creative Saskatchewan (and those funded by Creative Saskatchewan, including SaskMusic and our members) to demonstrate and celebrate the full value and importance of the creative industries to Saskatchewan’s economic growth.

You will need to have on hand your 2014 and 2015 music income and expenses figures, or best estimates. It will take 15-20 minutes to complete.

Note: Our last Saskatchewan music economic impact survey was conducted in 2008. We had a wonderful response to that survey, and are hoping for lots of participation this time again. We need real, current figures from our music industry to set a benchmark to measure future growth.

The survey will close February 29, 2016. For privacy purposes, information is being collected by an independent third party (Praxis Consulting) and will remain strictly confidential. Your own specific income will not be reported to Revenue Canada, Creative Saskatchewan, or any other government agency, only used to collect summary information about our industry.
