‘Rosie’ to make Meadow Lake debut for National Canadian Film Day
A story of a little girl finding family in the unlikeliest of places is set to give audiences at the Meadow Lake Library the full range of emotions for National Canadian Film Day.
“I didn’t even know about it, it somehow completely was off my radar,” said Tawn Marshall, programming clerk.
“Rosie”, the directorial debut of Gail Maurice, who grew up in Beauval, came out two years ago and was the official selection of the Toronto Film Festival. Marshall said that she discovered Maurice was local when she was looking through a section of films when she happened across the information.
“I was surprised and delighted and of course, immediately chose it,” she said.
