A Canadian mother who has spent weeks detained at an immigration facility in Texas along with her seven-year-old daughter could be going home after a judge granted her bond.

Tania Warner’s husband, Edward Warner, says a judge set the bond for his wife at US$9,500.

Reached by phone on Tuesday, Warner says he was rushing to the bank to withdraw the money and that his wife could be back at their home in Kingsville, Texas “today.”

Tania Warner and her daughter Ayla were taken into custody on March 14 at a United States border patrol checkpoint in Texas after returning from a baby shower.
