Man charged after break-in, suspicious fire at Onion Lake Cree Nation school

A 22-year-old man is facing charges after a break-in and suspicious fire at a high school on Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Onion Lake RCMP said officers responded to a report of a break and enter at the school at about 5:45 a.m. on June 27, along with Onion Lake Cree Nation Peacekeepers. While searching the building, officers discovered a fire inside. Fire rescue crews were called to the scene.

Police said the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire and the investigation determined the blaze was suspicious.

As a result of the investigation, Romeo Dillion, 22, of Onion Lake Cree Nation, is charged with four counts of mischief and arson-related offences.
