Miracle Treat Day arrives in Saskatchewan
Today you’ve got a built in excuse to get that ice cream.
Miracle Treat Day has returned for another year, supporting the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. Last year, Prince Albert’s location raised a total of $8,900 of the $282,000 raised across the province. Even franchises located in smaller centres see big success with the fundraiser. The Diary Queen in Nipawin ended up raising over $5,700 last year. Assistant manager Harman Kaur says this year they were ready for the rush and opened the store an hour earlier in the hopes of outdoing last year’s numbers.
“Since nine o’clock, we are getting a lot of help from our community. We do have a kid that comes in from Jim Pattison Hospital and then he comes in for an hour or so and he helped us make Blizzards and then everybody kind of supports him. We do take a lot of pictures and it’s fun day.”
Kaur says people come from all over the rural area to support Miracle Treat Day.
