Carpenter Spartans expect ‘more competitive’ football season
The Carpenter Spartans spent last season learning. This fall, they want to compete.
With a solid returning core and more Grade 12 players expected in the lineup, head coach Coleton Ethier believes the still-young Spartans are better positioned heading into the 2026 football season.
“We’ve got a great group of returning athletes from last year, as well as a handful of new younger kids that are expected to come out,” Ethier said.
About 20 athletes participated in the team’s spring camp, a number Ethier said is typically lower than what they see in the fall. The final makeup of the team won’t be clear until players report Aug. 20.
