Oxford House is a non-profit organization that provides affordable, transitional housing to people recovering from addictions who need a stable and sober living environment.

The Lloydminster project is part of Saskatchewan’s commitment to add 500 addictions recovery spaces through its Action Plan for Mental Health and Addictions. The province says 402 of those spaces are now available to residents.

Other second-stage sober-living additions include 12 spaces with Poundmaker’s Lodge in Swift Current, 22 at Oxford House in Regina, 21 at Oxford House in Prince Albert and 16 at Pine Lodge in Regina.

Inpatient additions include 17 spaces at the Carter House Family Treatment Centre in Saskatoon, 60 at Willowview Recovery Centre in Lumsden, 15 at Muskwa Lake Wellness Camp, 15 at Thorpe Recovery Centre near Lloydminster and 14 at Battlefords Treatment Centre in North Battleford.

The plan also includes 15 mobile withdrawal-management spaces operated by Medavie in Yorkton and 40 in Saskatoon, along with 15 withdrawal-management spaces at Ekweskeet Healing Lodge in Onion Lake Cree Nation and five at Thorpe Recovery Centre.

The remaining additions are 41 post-treatment spaces at St. Joseph’s Addiction Recovery Centre in Estevan, 32 intensive outpatient spaces through Possibilities Recovery Center in Saskatoon and 42 virtual spaces through Edgewood Health Network Canada.

The province’s 2026-27 budget allocates $674 million to mental health and addictions supports and services.

Oxford House Saskatchewan chief executive officer Mark Soloway said the expansion marks the organization’s arrival in Lloydminster.

“For us, this expansion is about something pretty important: making sure that when someone has done the hard work of going through addictions treatment, they have a safe, sober and affordable place to call home when they leave.”
