Teachers’ federation launches ad campaign over education funding
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation hopes a new ad campaign will lead to changes in operating funding.
According to the STF, Saskatchewan’s per-student education funding was $1,483 lower in the 2025-26 school year than a decade earlier.
The federation’s new campaign will use television, social media and out-of-home advertising to shine a light on the decline. The campaign’s website will also include an online tool designed to show the estimated impact on each of Saskatchewan’s 27 school divisions.
Samantha Becotte, STF president, said the funding loss is having a significant impact.
