2026-27 School Playground Equipment Grant Program Application Period Opens
Schools can once again apply for funding through the School Playground Equipment Grant as applications for the second year of the program are now open.
Introduced in 2025, schools can receive up to $50,000 in matched funding to build new playgrounds or update existing equipment. The government is providing $3.75 million each year for four years to the program, which has already helped 94 schools throughout the province.
“Safe, inclusive playgrounds give children a place to play, learn and build friendships close to home,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Alana Ross said. “Through the School Playground Equipment Grant Program, our government is helping school communities create spaces that support healthy, active lifestyles and strengthen connections among students, families and neighbourhoods. We are pleased to continue this investment and look forward to seeing more projects take shape in communities across Saskatchewan.”
The Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA) administers the program on behalf of government.
