Pelican Narrows dog attack leaves young woman critically injured
A young woman was critically injured in a dog attack in Pelican Narrows on Monday, with Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN) health staff saying it was the fifth dangerous dog attack in recent days.
The condition or age of the injured woman was not available Tuesday, but the attack prompted the First Nation’s leadership to call an emergency meeting on Monday.
During the meeting, the staff raised serious concerns about the earlier incidents and said the earlier incidents involved dogs believed to belong to the same owner, PBCN said in a news release on Tuesday.
PCBN said its leadership understands that police may have been notified of at least one of the attacks. It has not been confirmed the same dogs were involved.
