Second sex assault reported at Country Thunder festival

A second sex assault has been reported at the Country Thunder festival site in Craven.

Lumsden RCMP said in a news release on Saturday that police were investigating the incident reported around 10 p.m. on Friday.

Police said the woman was approached by an unknown man as she was leaving a portable toilet, and told police the man made comments and physical advances towards her, and attempted to force her into one of the toilets.

Police said the woman was able to escape and was not injured.

The man is described as approximately 6 foot tall, wearing a red plaid shirt, jean shorts, a tan cowboy hat and two diamond earrings.

Lumsden RCMP said they did not believe the incident was connected to an assault reported on the first official night of the music festival, where a woman told police she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man while walking between campsites at around 3 a.m.

Anyone who may have seen anything or has any information is asked to RCMP at 310-RCMP (7267) or to inform Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at saskcrimestoppers.com.
