Reports of firearm pointed at school bus lead to arrest in Lloydminster
A man was arrested Wednesday morning after reports of someone pointing what appeared to be a firearm at vehicles, including a school bus.
Officers responded around 8:37 a.m. after receiving several complaints about the incident. RCMP, assisted by the detachment’s general investigation unit and Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services, briefly shut down the area while officers arrested the suspect.
“An imitation firearm was seized as a result,” RCMP stated.
The man was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on July 6. Now, charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose are being considered.
