Spring flood damage has forced the replacement of a bridge near Meadow Lake, one of two area bridge projects carrying a combined estimated price tag of $7.6 million.
Work on the Highway 304 bridge replacement began Aug. 4 after the existing structure was damaged by spring flooding, according to the Ministry of Highways.
The project is estimated to cost $1.7 million and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. It comes as another major bridge project in the Meadow Lake area has recently wrapped up.
Construction on the Highway 903 Waterhen River Bridge began June 4 and has now been completed at an estimated cost of $5.9 million. That bridge was replaced because the existing structure was nearing the end of its service life.
