Rural recruitment incentive expands to 12 more Saskatchewan communities
A provincial program that allows communities to offer up to $50,000 to recruit high-priority workers has expanded to include another dozen communities.
Hafford, Cudworth, Sandy Bay, Loon Lake, Whitewood, Canwood, Stoughton, Strasbourg, Eston, Langenburg, Leask and Norquay are now part of the Rural and Remote Recruitment Incentive Program, which is aimed at health-care workers.
Workers recruited under the program can get up to $50,000 for a three-year return-in-service commitment.
“Building a stronger, more stable health-care workforce is essential to putting patients first and ensuring the right care is available, in the right place, and at the right time,” Health Minister Jeremy Cockrill said in a news release.
