An RCMP officer was injured, and two men have been charged after a disturbance at the Lloyd Ex Fair Saturday night in Lloydminster.

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance at the fair at about 10:48 p.m. on July 11.

Police said officers found an intoxicated man who had allegedly tried to start fights with fair attendees multiple times. As officers attempted to arrest him, they said he resisted and failed to comply with lawful directions.

RCMP said a second man then became involved and assaulted one of the responding officers.

Quincy Wolfe, 37, of Saskatoon, is charged with overcoming resistance, assaulting a peace officer causing bodily harm, resisting or obstructing a peace officer and causing a disturbance.

Pierson Wolfe, 31, of Onion Lake, is charged with assault, assaulting a peace officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, causing a disturbance and failing to comply with an order.

Both men were remanded into custody following judicial interim release hearings and were scheduled to appear in the Lloydminster provincial court on July 13.

“Lloydminster RCMP would like to thank the public for their quick action and assistance in this matter.  This outcome demonstrates how collaboration between police and the public plays a key role in prioritizing public safety,” the Mounties stated in a release.
